Conservative: Montgomery, Alabama

Named for Richard Montgomery, this picturesque city sits along the banks of the Alabama river. It was incorporated in 1819 as a chain of smaller towns to produce another southern trade hub for the growing population in that area. Today, Montgomery is home to a number of large industrial companies, several military bases and institutions, and a high-quality education system that sustains a thriving economy.

A large central swath covers Alabama with a Democratic vote, and Montgomery was part of this move in the 2020 election. In the end, the conservative vote won in this state with nearly 65 percent of the vote going to President Trump.
