#14 – Van Halen

Named for the talented lead guitarist Eddie Van Halen, this band has been rocking the music scene since its formation in 1972 in Pasadena, California. The band connected so well because they all came from families who had migrated to the US not that long ago. 

Van Halen was particularly famous for Eddie’s innovative two-hand ‘tapping’ guitar technique, in addition to the excellent skills of all the other band members. As of March 2019, Van Halen is 20th on the RIAA list of best-selling artists in the United States and is one of the top-selling groups of all time.
