Formed in 1977, Def Leppard (another English rock band) was established during the new wave of British heavy metal, with their success soon following in the early 1980s. Surprisingly, the band managed to survive the loss of their drummer’s arm in a car crash and the death of their guitarist.

Despite the tragedy this group has faced, Def Leppard has topped the music charts not only in England but also in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The best description of their music comes from singer Joe Elliott, who stated it as “AC/DC meets Queen.”
