Joan Jett – Born 1958

Joan Jett is best known for her role as lead singer in Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, a popular eighties band. Hit singles for this band include Crimson and Clover, I Hate Myself For Loving You, Dirty Deeds, and Bad Reputation. Up Your Alley, another popular hit single, earned her multiple platinum certifications.
Her powerhouse vocals and passionate stage performance were well known, even when she was in the process of starting the band in college. Nearing 60 now, she is giving the vocals a rest and exercising her voice in other ways; she is a passionate advocate of vegetarianism and has joined forces with PETA to stand against cruelty to animals. A Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee in 2015, she has more than earned that title, and regardless of how she chooses to impact the world around her, we want more of what she’s got.
