Shanqin Bay Golf Club – Hainan, China

Shanqin Bay Golf Club is located on the southeast coast of Hainan Island. It stands out from the rest of China’s 400 or so golf clubs. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw designed this private course with the help of Wang Jun, a member of one of China’s ruling families.

The layout is unique compared to other courses. Shanqin Bay Golf Club winds around pretty scenery and a white sand beach. There are also tall trees that dare players to try and get around them. It has been reported that this club is meant to be a secret retreat and initiation fees cost nearly $1 million.
