East Hampton Golf Club – New York, United States

Potato farmer Pete Bistrian opened a nine-hole golf course with his family in the 1940’s. Over time, the course got more popular and expanded. Today, the 18-hole layout was designed by golf course architects Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. Part of the course is in open grasslands, while the remainder twists and turns through a forest.

Most people assume anything with the name “Hampton” in it on Long Island is probably wealthy or expensive. The East Hampton Golf Club is rather exclusive, so it’s true in this case. It has a small number of limited memberships available, but they can cost up to $200,000.
