Conservative: Jacksonville, Florida

Jacksonville has gained much area and growth through consolidation; several large towns have combined to become the city that we know to be Jacksonville’s metropolitan area today. Settled on the banks of the St. John river, it’s become a major port for trade and military activity in the deep South, and it has become a booming economic area with opportunity for industry to grow.

Conservative they were, and conservative they stand–the citizens of Jacksonville pulled ahead with 57 percent of the vote in this last election. It’ll be interesting to see how their population continues to evolve as our society weathers the changes that will inevitably come from this politically charged time.
