Liberal: Cheyenne, Wyoming

Thanks to the development of the Union Pacific Railroad in the 1800s, Cheyenne was born out of a need to connect East and West. Named after the Cheyenne tribe, the city is home to nearly 100,000 people who pay homage to Native American traditions while blending the best of urban America and the wild West.

In a state rife with conservative living and conservative values, Cheyenne remains largely progressive, coming in with a solid showing for the Democratic party in the election. Of the 26 percent of the vote that was Biden’s, Cheyenne remains an influential area that remains loyal to the blue.
