Liberal: Detroit, Michigan

The city of Detroit is home to 4.3 million people, making it the second largest city in the Midwest behind Chicago. A number of industries and manufacturing enterprises keep Detroit residents afloat, and recent renovations of the educational system and infrastructure are attracting more and more residents each year.

Biden and Trump were neck and neck in this last election, with a fraction of the votes separating winner-elect from loser-elect. As the population continues to swell in the face of community improvements, Detroit is anybody’s guess when it comes to subsequent political innovations
