Baldwin was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and from an early age she found herself interested in journalism and international studies. She went on to receive degrees in Spanish from the UNC, as well as journalism from the Hussman School of Journalism and Media.

A number of smaller television and co-hosting appearances inevitably led to her position at CNN as of 2008. She’s currently an anchor for “CNN Newsroom” as well as for the groundbreaking series, “American Woman”.
