Television Watcher

If your parents nagged you as a child that watching television could never turn into a real job, then this joke’s on them. Netflix and other streaming giants regularly hire people to watch a TV series in its entirety and come up with descriptions and categorizations for the show within its platform.

The position title is called editorial analyst, and it’s basically the dream job for anybody who loves to sit on a comfy couch or bed and binge-watch TV shows all day. If you’re lucky enough to snag this position, you can expect to earn between $25,000 and $78,000 per year.

House And Dog Sitter

Getting paid to hang out with a cute dog and watch movies in somebody else’s house can’t be a real thing, but it totally is. Of course, this sweet gig might not be as easy as it first seems. You must build trust in your clients by regularly watering their plants, walking the pup, and bringing in the mail.

You are ensuring that their home and lives stay on track, as they travel for business or take a vacation. But if you do a good job, they’ll likely keep inviting you back, and tell all their friends about you – giving you the perfect little side gig.

This position is exactly what it sounds like. You sit around all day on various couches, beds, and chairs while telling big companies about the comfort and quality level of their products.

As a self-proclaimed lazy person, you’re probably already an expert in the quality of furniture. You can earn up to $36,000 a year to literally sit around doing this job.

Mystery Shopper

A mystery shopper works with large retail chains to anonymously shop in their stores, which allows the company to test how things are going, like customer service, availability of items, and cleanliness of the shop.

You’ll need to do a bit of light acting with this job, as you don’t want anybody to know that you’re an undercover shopper, but you can make a decent amount of extra money on an hourly or per-visit rate.

Believe it or not, there are plenty of jobs that pay you to complain and/or give constructive criticism on various products. In-person focus groups play a significant role in product development for large retailers and businesses

All this requires is a few hours of your time while you give your thoughts on the new chair or TV you just bought. While it’s likely not going to become a full-time job, it generally pays $15 to $25 per hour and can give you a bit of extra cash when you need it.
