Philip Seymour Hoffman won numerous awards for his amazing acting skills, and at 46 years old, he had a lot left in him. That is, until his passing. On February 2, 2014, the actor was found lifeless in his apartment. The cause was due to acute intoxication of illegal substances.

After his passing, Broadway dimmed their lights for one minute and the LAByrinth Theatre held a candlelight vigil. Actress Cate Blanchett also dedicated her BAFTA trophy to him.
