Not to be confused with the same-named French actress, Nicole Richie is an American television personality who has worked as a fashion designer and actress. Her fame was kickstarted after she appeared alongside friend Paris Hilton on the TV series The Simple Life in 2003. 

Nicole Richie was adopted and raised by music legend Lionel Richie, who was friends with her birth parents. His first album alone went platinum four times the year after Nicole’s birth. It is estimated that Lionel Richie’s net worth sits around $200 million.
