Best-selling author and writer of The Testing of Luther Albright—which earned her a National Book Award—Mackenzie was married to the founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos from 1993 to 2019. You might recognize Jeff Bezos name as that of the richest man in the world.

Her divorce settlement made her the third wealthiest woman in the world. It was revealed by Forbes, in June 2020, that her divorce settlement totaled a staggering $38 billion—much of which Mackenzie has donated to charity.
