Lily Safra

Lily Safra is a Brazilian-Monegasque billionaire, philanthropist, and socialite. With four marriages under her belt, her most famous marriage was to Edmond Safra. Sufra was an affluent Lebanese Jewish banker. Edmond was most widely known for starting the Republic National Bank of New York.

The lovebirds married in 1976, despite the fact that Edmond’s family opposed the marriage. They were married from 1976 until his death in 1999. He died in a tragic fire that attracted world-wide media coverage.
