#7 – The Rolling Stones 

Starting with the pop-rock sound, The Rolling Stones ended up leading the charge with the gritty sound we adore with hard rock. In addition to their sound, they were notorious for their off-stage antics, primarily Richard’s heavy drug use and Mick Jagger’s status as an international playboy. 

There have been many other incidents associated with The Rolling Stones, but their music is what made them shine despite the negative publicity. The names of primary band members, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, and Keith Richards, still resonate today with younger audiences hearing the lyrics “moves like Jagger.”
