Unfortunately, Lawrence didn’t go home with the award that year, but this wouldn’t be the end of her nominations for her work. The next year, she was nominated for the same award for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook, and she won.

Jennifer Lawrence’s career in acting really took off after she played Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games movie franchise. After the amazing success of these movies, she was launched into stardom, and landed many more notable roles. Today, she’s still cast in many diverse movie roles, and is one of the most highly recognized and sought-after actresses in the world.
