These Celebrities Are Somehow The Same Age

Throughout our lives, we get to grow up alongside our favorite celebrities. At times, it can seem that some of them are ageless, or that some of them are older than they actually are. Every now and then, you can have a moment where you’re like “whoa, they’re how old?”

But even more so than the jarring discovery of a celebrity’s surprising age can be the discovery that two celebrities who seem to be almost from different generations were born in the same year. When you learn who Eddie Murphy is the same age as, or Brad Pitt, and definitely Selena Gomez, you’ll almost assuredly be left with your jaw agape, asking how this is even possible. But believe it or not, it is…

Betty White and Judy Garland

Betty White’s list of Hollywood accomplishments is as long as her list of enviable birthday parties; she has been our favorite Golden Girl since the show aired, and even in her nineties, she manages to spice things up with any role she takes on.

We can’t forget iconic Judy Garland and her influence in film and television with roles like Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz, Vickie in A Star Is Born, and Meet Me In St. Louis. She raised the bar with regard to childhood acting and its contribution to cinema, and though she has since traveled the yellow brick road, she would no doubt have rivaled White in popularity until their last breaths.

Harrison Ford, Jimi Hendrix, and Joe Biden

1942 was a big year for entertainment—and politics. These three came to be in that year, and each has had their unique contributions to society. Harrison gave us iconic roles in film and television, coming to settle down with Calista Flockhart as he revels in his retirement.

Hendrix gave us his signature sound for a short time in the realm of rock and roll–his unforgettable guitar riffs are still heard far and wide by loyal fans and young ‘uns who find his music appealing and timeless.

As you well know, Biden is set to take the stage in a fierce competition against our current president, although his political influence has been felt before in our country. No doubt this power trio has impacted many, and their influence will be felt for decades to come.

The Dalai Lama and Elvis Presley

His holiness, the Dalai Lama, is self-described as a simple Buddhist monk who travels a simple path. His influence over all humanity has been anything but small, however. Born in a farming town to hard-working parents in Tibet, he was recognized at age two by the Buddhist community as a reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama. His path seemed set from that moment on, and he continues to bring love, light, and peace to all he comes in contact with.

Elvis, the high priest of rock and roll, came to us from humble beginnings as well; he was born in rural Mississippi, where the roots of religious tradition ran deep. Presley’s first exposure to music was in the Assembly of God church, where he soaked up every delicious choir anthem until his first musical gift at age 11 when his mother purchased a guitar for him. From that moment on, Presley devoted his time to the study and practice of music, rising to be the most culturally significant icon of the 20th century. His music and presence continue to be felt even today, though he is no longer on this earthly plane.

Marilyn Monroe and Hugh Hefner

Marilyn Monroe, otherwise known as Norma Jeane Mortenson, is easily one of the most recognizable icons and representations of female beauty in the 20th century. Her turbulent childhood and humble start in a munitions factory earned her the attention of a local photographer, who was struck by her shy nature and natural beauty. A star was born.

Ironically, one who had met Monroe several times throughout his illustrious career is himself a fan of the female form. Hugh Hefner, CEO and founder of the Playboy empire, has made a living by giving enterprising women a chance to share themselves with the rest of the world. He continues on at his home in Los Angeles, though he is slowing a bit on the parties these days.

Princess Diana and Barack Obama

Princess Diana of Wales was and still is one of the most beloved members of the British royal family. Marrying Prince Charles in 1981, she used her power, beauty, and influence to positively impact charities and individuals until her untimely death in 1997.

Not a member of any royal family, Barack Obama still rose to fame and prominence to become the first and only African American president in our country’s history. Though his term as president is now over, he continues to make appearances and work with political and private organizations to spread a message of unity, hope, and change.

Shirley Temple and Maya Angelou

Shirley Temple Black was a child-turned adult actress, singer, dancer, entrepreneur, and diplomat who was Hollywood’s number one box-office star as a child actress in the mid-thirties. As an adult, Shirley was named United States ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia and served as Chief of Protocol of the United States. Her wholesome image and fresh face continue to be recognized far and wide as one of entertainment’s most recognizable and classic figures.

Maya Angelou, poet, philosopher, and historian, continues to live on through her inspirational writings and speeches that tug at the heartstrings of those lucky enough to read them. Her wisdom was far beyond her years, and she continues to shine on in poetry and prose, inspiring us to reach for our own highest ideals.

Bhad Bhabie and JoJo Siwa

This unlikely pairing couldn’t be more different; Bhad Bhabie is a rapper, songwriter, and internet personality from Boynton Beach, Florida, and she likes to let it all hang out. Her over the top style, lyrics, and stage presence are sure to bring a crowd wherever she goes.

Not to be outdone, JoJo Siwa has earned her own loyal following, with fans screaming in the aisles and concert halls galore, reciting wholesome lyrics that speak of reaching goals and dreams. Although both ladies have slightly different looks and brands, they connect on one simple thing–their love of the stage.

Post Malone and Austin and Ally

Post Malone has risen to prominence in the music world with his signature sound—a blend of pop, country, and even a little grunge thrown in for good measure. Though still relatively new on the music scene, everything he cranks out has been newsworthy thus far, and we are looking forward to hearing more from him.

Aren’t Austin and Ally (a.k.a. Ross Lynch and Laura Marano) still thirteen years old? It seems that our favorite young teen sitcom has these two immortalized in their early teens as well; realizing that they have gotten older reminds us that the clock is ticking for us too. Wonder if they will pick up any mature roles in film and television now that they’re finally old enough to do so?

Kylie Jenner and Malala Yousafzai

These rule-breakers are in the same category for their innovative thinking and unwillingness to let young age stand in their way. Malala Yousafzai is an up and coming Pakistani activist who is gaining notoriety for her resistance to young women’s subordination in her country. She continues to advocate strongly for women’s rights and the need for continued education for those not allowed to speak for themselves.

Kylie Jenner may not be as politically recognized as her same-age counterpart, but she has an impressive list of accomplishments under her Gucci belt. She has been on the list of the world’s youngest billionaires for some time now. With the guidance of momager Kris Jenner, she has turned an innocent interest in cosmetics into a serious industrial endeavor. Keep rocking it, girls–you’re doing well.

Willem Dafoe and Kris Jenner

Willem Dafoe is known for his rugged good looks, trademark gravelly voice, and ability to play any part given to him in film and television with grace and ease. His impressive list of film accomplishments includes Streets of Fire, The Loveless, and To Live And Die In L.A. He continues to pop up from time to time in cameos and other appearances, looking just as ruggedly handsome as he did when he first hit the silver screen.

What would this list be without two Kardashian/Jenners on it? Kris Jenner is the driving force behind the whole Kardashian-Jenner-West empire, and she runs the show with an iron fist and a polished complexion. Despite her advancing age, she manages to practice the fine art of self-care; she makes aging look easy.

Mara Wilson and Wiz Khalifa

Mara Wilson is perhaps most well known for her childhood role in the iconic film, Matilda. She plays a spunky, intelligent, and delightful child who was clearly born to the wrong parents. After taking this role, she decided that a long-term career in acting wasn’t in the cards for her, and she has since spent her time taking on small roles and concentrating on her first love—writing.

Wiz Khalifa, otherwise known as Cameron Jibril Thomaz, is an iconic figure in the world of rap and music. After releasing a wildly successful debut in 2006, he was signed to musical giant Warner Bros in 2007, and the rest is history. Hard to believe that this scrawny yet feisty kid has grown up, and he now has a family to support with his award-winning vocals.

Amy Schumer and Beyonce

Amy Beth Schumer is a “Jill of all trades,” having dabbled in comedy, film, television, and even publishing since 2000. After receiving praise from her debut on Last Comic Standing, she went on to star in, produce, and direct several successful comedy shows. Her claim to fame in the book department, The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo, was on the New York Times Bestseller list for two weeks straight upon its release. We wonder what Amy will attempt next, but one thing’s for certain— she’s bound to make it a smashing success.

Is there a single thing that Beyonce has done in recent years that hasn’t taken our breath away? From her first appearances in Destiny’s Child, she scored a stratospheric solo career with hits like Single Ladies, Halo, and Irreplaceable. Her talent for show-stopping moves and superior vocals make her one of the most sought-after sirens in entertainment today.

Jake T. Austin and Halsey

Jake T. Austin has some serious credits to his name, and his impressive list starts at the tender age of seven when he landed roles for both the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. Some of his more significant film and television roles include a spot on The Wizards Of Waverly Place as well as the voice of Diego on Go Diego, Go! Austin’s film credits include Rio, Hotel For Dogs, New Year’s Eve, and The Emoji Movie. With so much under his belt already, we can see that he has no plans for slowing down anytime soon.

Halsey is noted as one of this generation’s most iconic performers with her trademark vocals and a penchant for penning some thought-provoking lyrics. Thanks to the powerful leverage of social media, she was signed by Astralwerks and designed her first official debut album entitled Room 93 shortly thereafter. Halsey continues to wow audiences with her unique combination of vocal prowess and political activism; if you’re due for a bit of both, you might want to take her in on her next local tour stop.

Anthony Hopkins, Morgan Freeman, and Jane Fonda

What are these three doing together in our contemporaries list? Perhaps it’s because they share a similar birth year, or maybe it’s because they have had such long and illustrious careers. Whatever the reason, we’re glad to see them in film and print.

Hopkins and Freeman have enjoyed long careers with even longer filmographies for both gentlemen. They are the kind of performers that leave a lasting impression on us long after the lights have been turned back up and the popcorn is gone. Like a fine wine, they seem to improve their craft and age e, and we savor the flavor.

Fonda is one smart entrepreneur. Like her contemporaries, she knew what her strengths were, and she took opportunity where it was presented her for fame, fortune and, at first, health. Her first claim to fame was in the fitness industry, where she became well known for cranking out entertaining and effective workout videos in which she flaunted her flawless figure. She also had an impressive list of film and television credits to her name, her most notable being Cat Ballou, On Golden Pond, and most recently, The Book Club. Smart, savvy investments and royalties from prior work put her in a place where she never has to work again, although staying sedentary doesn’t seem like the kind of thing that Fonda relishes. It’s great to see her active in her advancing years.

Bernie Sanders, Bob Dylan, and Martha Stewart

All three of these characters have made their contributions to society and pop culture as we know it, yet the medium of influences is vastly different for these three. Take Sanders, for instance–the Democratic party leader was in the running for several prominent political positions in the past few years, and he continues to shake things up in Congress as we face the most emotionally charged election in history.

Bob Dylan, a prolific composer, musician, and activist, is well known for his signature vocals and thought-provoking lyrics. His songs inspired political, societal, and civil change, and timeless anthems gifted to us by him continue to ring true decades later. Thanks, B-dog.

Martha Stewart has colored the world in her own unique way, although few may know of her additional credentials in the world of media and entertainment. After gaining exposure as a model and actress for a brief time, she branched off into the world of interior design, becoming an icon in the field of home hopes and dreams. She continues to dominate the field of home decor and furnishings, lighting up our homes with style and taste.

Liam Hemsworth and Thomas Brodie-Sangster

Before realizing his acting skills, Liam Hemsworth was a humble floor technician. At the tender age of sixteen, he secured his first audition and landed his first roles on Home and Away and McCleod’s Daughters. His career really took off in 2009 as he partnered with Sly Stallone in The Expendables, and from there, he went on to star in the blockbuster hit, The Hunger Games. He continues to light up the screen with various roles in film and television, and with his career just taking off, we will be able to enjoy his acting talents for some time to come.

Young Thomas Brodie-Sangster has an impressive list of credentials to his name. From a young age, luck seemed to land him some high-profile roles, including character parts in Love Actually, Nanny McPhee, and Tristan and Isolde. Since then, he’s gone on to secure a spot on Game of Thrones, where his natural acting ability and prior film experience really seem to shine.

Barbara Walters and Anne Frank

Well, this seems like an unlikely pairing. Barbara Walters is known as the “eleven-year” anchor of The Today Show, and her contributions to broadcast journalism are well-respected in the field. Born to influential parents, she was surrounded by famous people for most of her formative years, which could account for her relaxed manner when securing her trademark interviewing style.

Though Anne Frank never interviewed anyone, she certainly had much to say. She and her family were practicing Jews who fled Nazi control during World War II. Her diary, which gives a detailed account of the time that she and her family spent in hiding, has been read and cherished by millions. It is unlikely that she would have known how many people she impacted with her account of adversity and suffering.

Snoop Dogg and Martin Freeman

Snoop Dogg is a celebrated and recognized character in hip hop culture. Breezy lyrics, a flair for rhythmic pentameter, and some serious fashion flair allowed him to rise to the top of the heap, epitomizing the West coast music and rap scene. Though he has settled down and become a family man in recent years, his image as a gangster rapper in the nineties precedes him, and even young fans line up in droves to see him perform.

Martin Freeman, an extraordinary English actor, has had several significant roles throughout the course of his illustrious career. From The Office and Love Actually to Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy and Captain America, his talent and versatility are enjoyed by anyone lucky enough to take in a show or two. We hope to see him in many more projects.

Brian Hugh Warner, known professionally as Marilyn Manson, is known in the music world for being one of the most unique stage performers of our time. His visual talents, distinctive vocal quality, and edgy lyrics have drawn a loyal following since his entrance into the entertainment world in 1989.

Paul Rudd studied theater and drama at the University of Kansas and made his onscreen debut in 1992 with his role in Sisters. He also enjoyed a brief but hilarious tenure as Mike Hannigan on the hit sitcom, Friends. His natural charisma and flair for comedic timing make him one of the most sought-after personalities for film and television today.

Macaulay Culkin and Kim Kardashian West

Culkin is perhaps most well-known for his role as the loveable Kevin McCallister in the hit film series, Home Alone. He stole hearts and audiences across the country with his competent and hilarious performance. He has since gone on to score modest fame as a character actor and musician, though he prefers to steer clear of any limelight these days.

In stark contrast to Culkin’s preference for privacy, Kim Kardashian West prefers to make media waves, no matter what the response is. Part of the Jenner-Kardashian empire, Kim has carved out a respectable name for herself in the fashion and music industry, and has now paired herself with media mogul Kanye West. The pair has three adorable children, and we look forward to seeing what kind of passions they will pursue as they grow into the industry and influence they are privileged to have.

Molly Ringwald and Will Smith

Molly Ringwald, an established teen icon, rose to fame thanks to her collaboration with film producer John Hughes in several teen productions like Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty In Pink. Even after her teen stardom seemed to fizzle, she landed a respectable place for herself in more mature roles on Secret Life Of The American Teenager and Riverdale.  She remains one of the top 100 teen stars of the century, according to VH1’s illustrious list.

Will Smith is a Jack of all trades—his acting, producing, and musical abilities have earned him a worldwide reputation for excellence, no matter what he is involved in. Starting in the music industry, his big break in acting came with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, a popular sitcom that ran for several years. He went on to score some lucrative roles on the big screen as well, including spots on Men In Black, Independence Day, and Bad Boys.  He and wife Jayda Pinkett Smith are continuing to evolve and find new ways to engage and entertain, and their children are following closely behind in their footsteps.

His most notable roles include his breakout role on Private Parts, American Splendor, and Barney’s Version, for which he earned a prestigious Golden Globe Award. He currently stars in the Showtime special, Billions.

Vin Diesel has chosen to take on more active roles during his film career. He is most famous for the chain of successful Fast And Furious films, where he lived out his dream of owning and racing high-performance cars. In his advancing age, he has taken on more subdued roles such as character voice-overs for Guardians Of The Galaxy and Ralph Breaks The Internet. Fans saw a softer side of Diesel when he took on the part of babysitter supreme in The Pacifier.  He continues to show us his versatility and adaptability as an actor with roles, leaving us wondering how he will surprise us next.

Gwen Stefani and Cate Blanchett

Not so long ago, Gwen Stefani was selling out arenas and rocking the crop tops as the front-gal for the band, No Doubt. She has gone on to earn a successful solo career and a guest spot as a judge on The Voice. These days, she is seen around town with her beau, Blake Shelton, and the two make a formidable presence at music award shows and festivals.

More commonly known as Cate, Catherine Elise Blanchett is an award-winning Aussie actress whose list of accomplishments in film and television speaks for itself. Starting from humble beginnings on the Australian theater stage, she was awarded some big roles in The Talented Mr. Ripley, Lord Of The Rings, and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. She has taken on an ambitious acting endeavor as of late, choosing to impersonate the Queen of England herself with her role in Elizabeth, and it seems as if she were made for her royal digs.

Jay-Z and Matthew Perry

Shawn Corey Carter, otherwise known as Jay-Z, is one of the most celebrated and iconic rappers and media moguls of our time. He and wife Beyonce have a corner on the musical market, and they use their power, talent, and influence to produce some killer music, but they contribute a portion of their vast wealth to many charities.

Matthew Perry, funny man extraordinaire, is perhaps most well-known for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, though he has also graced us with several memorable roles on the big screen as well. His film credits include Fools Rush In, 17 Again, and The Whole Nine Yards opposite megastar Bruce Willis. His natural charisma, winning smile, and flair for comedic timing and physical comedy make him one of the most memorable characters we’ve seen on screen.

John Oliver and Chadwick Boseman

John Oliver is an Emmy and Writer’s Guild Award-winning comedian, writer, and hilarious host of the HBO primetime show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. When he’s not winning over television audiences across the nation, he returns to the stage for his first love, stand-up comedy, and he slays it every time.

Chadwick Boseman’s film credits are as impressive as his million-dollar smile. His breakout role came in 2010 with a spot on Persons Unknown, for which he received critical acclaim. He went on to play such notable characters like Jackie Robinson in 42 and singer James Brown in Get On Up. His preference for tackling character acting was undoubtedly going to take him places that we would all have appreciated. He unfortunately passed away in August of 2020.

Serena Williams and Paris Hilton

Serena Williams is a world-renowned tennis player, revolutionizing the sport of tennis for women everywhere. Her powerful play and strong voice earned her more Grand Slam singles than any man or woman during the open era.

Paris Hilton is not quite as athletically inclined as Serena, though she has had some successes in the fashion and television industry. Born into privilege as part of the Hilton hotel empire, she has gone one to create some of her own entrepreneurial pursuits, attaining success and recognition in the field of fashion. As her party persona fades into the distance, we see her doing more charity work, and for that we are most grateful. She is using her power and social media influence for the greater good now.

Matt Damon and Nick Offerman

Matt Damon is the classic all-American actor, producer, and screenwriter. He first appeared on the scene with guy pal Ben Affleck, and the two were seen about Hollywood in various places, trying to gain recognition as writers. After a successful stint in high school theater, he went on to score roles on Mystic Pizza, Good Will Hunting, and The Talented Mr. Ripley. He has risen to continued fame with the Bourne Identity series, and is now seen around town with wife Luciana and their four children. Maybe one of them will follow in their father’s footsteps.

Michelle Pfeiffer and Whoopi Goldberg

Does Michelle Pfeiffer ever age? She has been on the silver and small screens for decades, and her award-winning performances have earned her both Golden Globes and Academy Awards. One of her first significant performances was in the 1982 production of Grease 2, but she seemed dissatisfied with being typecast as the token pretty girl; she began searching for meatier roles in film and television. All of that persistence paid off–she has been seen in Scarface, The Witches Of Eastwick, and What Lies Beneath, to name a few of her many film accomplishments. Will she show her chronological age in her next film debut? Tune in to see for yourself.

Whoopi Goldberg is one of a few female entertainers in the industry today that can boast a Golden Globe, an Emmy, a Tony, and an Academy Award. Her talents are many and her vices are few; she tends to find success in whatever medium she wishes to pursue. Some of her more notable roles include characters in The Color Purple, Ghost, and the Sister Act franchise, for which she gained recognition as an actress and musician. Whoopi can be seen these days as co-host on The View, for which she has earned multiple daytime Emmy awards.

Shaquille O’Neal and Eminem

Shaquille O’Neal is a major force to be reckoned with. His stature alone is enough to gain him a place in the sports hall of fame, but he has many successful plays and championship titles in basketball that speak for themselves. Now in retirement, he continues to stay active as a sportscaster and commentator for Inside The NBA on TNT.

Marshall Mathers, more well-known as Eminem, is one of the most influential composers and performers of our time. His signature rap style, edgy and honest lyrics, and rocky rise to fame have earned him some serious street cred and the attention of music critics everywhere. Try as we might, we cannot reproduce his sound— it’s all him.

Brad Pitt and Dean Norris

Brad Pitt is much more than just a pretty face—his serious acting digs make him one of the highest-paid and most well-respected men in the biz. From his breakout role on Thelma and Louise, he landed some notable roles in Seven, Interview With A Vampire, and Legends Of The Fall. Partnering with other influential starlets is another talent of his—he has been connected to a number of beauties in the business as well, including Gwenyth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, and Angelina Jolie, with whom he shares several children.

Dean Norris just has the look of a guy that you don’t want to mess with. His signature look has served him well; he played drug enforcement officer Hank Schrader on the AMC series Breaking Bad, for which he has received critical acclaim. Other significant film roles include Lethal Weapon 2, Total Recall, and Little Miss Sunshine. He continues to light up the screen with his unique blend of brute strength and acting charm.

Adele and Vanessa Hudgens

Adele is an English musician who has successfully crossed over into the American music scene. Her soulful vocals, heart-tugging lyrics, and ability to stir our emotions make her one of the highest-paid artists of our time.

Equally as musically talented, the beautiful Vanessa Hudgens rose to fame with her portrayal of high school sweetheart Gabriella in High School Musical. She has since gone on with Hollywood Records to release two successful solo albums, entitled V and Identified. She continues to bounce between acting and singing, and we are grateful, for we can’t decide which one she excels at.

Keith Urban and Will Ferrell

Keith Urban, a celebrated country singer and songwriter, was born and raised in New Zealand, which accounts for his charming accent and home-grown good looks. His honest approach to life and engaging lyrics make him one of the most well-respected and talented artists in the world.

Will Ferrell, funny man extraordinaire, got his start in comedy on the set of Saturday Night Live. Five-minute sketches weren’t enough for this go-getter; he began going for film and television roles shortly after his tenure began. He cemented his position in the comedy hall of fame with films like Talladega Nights, Elf, Bewitched, Stepbrothers, and Anchorman. We’d be surprised to see Ferrell in any upcoming role that was anything other than comedy; he seems to have cornered the market.

Halle Berry and Robin Wright

Halle Berry was destined for the stage; she started her career as a successful model, and after competing successfully in both the Miss USA and Miss World pageants, she set her sights on Hollywood. After her breakout role in Boomerang alongside Eddie Murphy, she went on to secure a number of other profitable roles that landed her Golden Globes, Academy Awards, and even an Academy Award for Best Actress in Monsters Ball. She continues to be a stellar role model for African American women, and she continues to set both personal and professional goals for herself that inspire others to reach for their dreams.

Robin Wright is perhaps most well-known for roles like Princess Buttercup in The Princess Bride and Tom Hanks’s love interest in Forrest Gump.  Several other roles in film and television prove that her acting chops are the real deal. She has made appearances in Moneyball, Wonder Woman, Message In A Bottle, and most recently, she has played Claire Underwood in the Netflix drama, House of Cards. No matter what her endeavor, her fresh-faced screen presence, and work ethic lend themselves to superior acting.

Jim Parsons and Andrew Lincoln

Jim Parsons plays the loveable Sheldon Cooper on one of the longest-running sitcoms in television history, The Big Bang Theory. While Parsons is much more laid back in real life than his onscreen counterpart, there are glimpses of Sheldon in other roles that Parsons has chosen to play. He will no doubt find another part that suits him perfectly now that Big Bang is coming to a close.

Andrew Lincoln is a top-notch English actor known for his role in the BBC drama, This Life. He has also had success on channel four sitcom Teachers and a supporting role in the 2003 comedy, Love Actually. His most recognizable role is the character of Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead. As far as we’re concerned, he needn’t wear so much makeup for his roles, for we think he exudes natural beauty that supersedes any Hollywood touch up.

Chris Rock and Piers Morgan

Chris Rock is a well-known comedian, actor, and filmmaker. A short stint as a successful stand-up comedian led to a more permanent spot on Saturday Night Live, where his exposure skyrocketed him to even greater fame. Other iconic roles and film appearances include Grown-Ups, Head of State, Madagascar, and The Longest Yard. He doesn’t stray far from the comedy scene as an intimate stage is his first love.

Piers Morgan may not be nearly as funny, but he is equally impressive with regard to his credentials. His writing, broadcasting, and television hosting talents have taken him through several mediums and several continents, and he is known for his dry sense of humor and direct interview skills. He became slightly more loveable on the panel of America’s Got Talent for a time, and has since been pursuing other projects that are more in keeping with his droll personality.

Kate Upton and Selena Gomez

An up and coming model and actress, Kate Upton started her skyrocketing career in 2008 when she visited Elite Model Management and was signed that very day. She became the face of Guess and secured a spot on several covers of the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated. She has appeared in numerous printed ads and appearances for various brands, becoming a household name and a very recognizable face in the advertising and modeling worlds.

Selena Gomez began her illustrious career as a childhood actress on Barney and Friends.  From her humble beginnings as a dinosaur’s best friend, she has gone on to gain a number of successes in film, television, and music. Her various talents have earned her several number one hit singles as well as memorable roles on Ramona and Beezus, A Rainy Day In New York, and Hotel Transylvania.  Gomez is not merely content to reside in the field of entertainment—she has moved on to entrepreneurial pursuits with a clothing line, a collection of women’s handbags and accessories, and makeup and fragrance offerings. We will be seeing much more of Selena and her talent in the future, to be sure.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Ellen DeGeneres

Jamie Lee Curtis is one of those classy actresses who has been around the block a few times. Her first groundbreaking role came with the Halloween movie series, and from there, she established herself as an iconic scream queen, starring in horror flicks such as Prom Night, The Fog, and Terror Train. Dwayne Johnson and John Cho

It’s no surprise to find out that Dwayne Johnson was born into a wrestling family; his genetic disposition made him perfect for some of the professional work he’s done thus far. Once dreaming of a professional career in football, a serious injury put an abrupt stop to that pathway and led to other opportunities that have made life far more fun for Johnson. Most notable film roles include The Fast and the Furious, The Mummy, The Tooth Fairy, and Jumanji.  He has branched out to produce and host The Titan Games, a show that glorifies sheer strength and willpower. Eddie Murphy and Forrest Whitaker

It seems that many of the comedy greats got their start on the small stage—-doing stand-up comedy, that is. Murphy is no exception, though his onstage performances were something to behold, and it took someone with a fair amount of tolerance for raunchy and relative topics to appreciate Murphy’s genius. Murphy cleaned up his act and began taking roles in film, including Beverly Hills Cop, Trading Places, The Nutty Professor, and The Golden Child. Now regarded more as a serious actor than a former raunchy comedian, he has earned the respect of his colleagues and the following of many a devoted fan.

Forrest Whitaker, in stark contrast to Eddie Murphy’s lighter work, is well respected as a character actor who takes his craft very seriously. Earning critical acclaim for his work in The Bird, The Crying Game, Platoon, The Way of the Samurai, and many others, people continue to be amazed by his ability to portray characters with depth and emotion that few others can dredge up. Whether he functions in a leading or a supporting role, he is likely to leave you with a memorable performance that will tug at your heartstrings.
